Rocco’s Tacos Update 1

Dear Readers,

Just FYI I have learned from Rocco Mangel that Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar is opening soon in Orlando. Rocco Mangel communicated to me that Rocco’s Tacos should be open in July or August in the SW Orlando area. It will be located on Restaurant Row where the Sambra Room used to be at. This place is also adjacent to the Timpano Chophouse. Back to Rocco’s. I recently had lunch at Rocco’s Tacos in downtown West Palm Beach on Clematis street. The Guacamole $12 prepared tableside with Rocco Chips was a hit for starters. I also enjoyed the Rocco’s tacos (Tacos $2.95-$4.25 or platters come with 2 tacos for $10-$12.50 range. I sampled several of the 8 different choices of tacos they had on the menu. The tacos were fabulous! I also enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere Rocco’s had. This will be a great addition to the Orlando restaurant community.

Rocco will be sending me a press release soon and I will be sharing that with you guys!

ROCCO’S TACOS & TEQUILA BAR ANNOUNCES FIFTH LOCATION IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA
South Florida Mexican Restaurant Expands to New Territory with Largest Restaurant to Date

(November 21, 2011) West Palm Beach, FL – Owners Rocco Mangel & Big Time Restaurant Group today announced plans for a fifth Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar in Orlando, Florida. Set to open during spring 2012, the new 8,200-square-foot restaurant with a 2,000-square-foot patio and bar overlooking West Sand Lake will be located in the former Samba Room space on “Restaurant Row.” This marks the brand’s first restaurant outside of South Florida and the largest Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar to date.

Since opening the first Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar in West Palm Beach, FL in 2007, the brand has become South Florida’s go-to destination for authentic Mexican dining in a vibrant atmosphere. The new indoor/outdoor restaurant with several large private banquet rooms will offer the same full-sensory dining experience complete with upbeat music, live mariachi bands on occasion and free tequila pourings by Rocco himself. Diners can sample from over 225 varieties of tequila, nibble on guacamole prepared tableside and enjoy a traditional Mexican dinner at the playful restaurant that embodies the true spirit of Mexico. Similar to other Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bars, the Orlando destination will be decorated with authentic Mexican flair purchased by Rocco himself at small villages throughout Mexico and Rocco’s signature star-shaped, punched-metal lantern chandeliers.

“I’m beyond excited to introduce the Rocco’s Tacos brand to the Orlando market,” says owner Rocco Mangel. “Orlando is a thriving city that I’ve always loved and I’m confident that we can be a great addition to the scene and energy.”

While the superior cuisine and cheerful décor have put the Rocco’s Tacos brand on the map, it’s Rocco’s “welcome to my house” attitude, contagious energy and show-stopping sense for creating an unforgettable experience that draws patrons in again and again. When regulars hear the buzzword “Tequila!” echo through the restaurant, everyone prepares for Rocco to take his spot on the bar top, dancing feverishly in his legendary shiny-white shoes. The scene reads like one out of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, sans the angry bikers. Rocco steps on ‘stage’ with a bottle of Patron in hand, ready to pour into eager guest’s mouths. This exhilarating display of merriment has made Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar a cherished destination and this location will be no exception.

The new Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar will be located at 7468 West Sand Lake Road, Orlando, FL 32819.

  1. Paul,
I’m so glad I found your site. I’ve been salivating for months waiting for the opening of Roccos in Orlando. It’s been 2 years since I’ve been to the one in WPB where I had my very first taste of Guac, and now I’m addicted and can’t wait to have it again. I’ll keep checking back for an update so don’t forget to let us know as soon as you do! Thanks!
